Emily is a ballet dancer, reader and also loves horses. How sweet is this girl?! She brought along her first ballet flats, and a book very fitting of her interests – Black Beauty. She also wore the cutest pair of Toms, and I might go copy her style and buy myself a pair! Emily wanted a natural setting for her teen portraits in Reno, so we chose Rancho San Rafael Regional Park as our backdrop – it’s a classic and easy-to-get-to location for teen portraits in Reno, for sure. And it is BEAUTIFUL right now. The leaves are just starting to change color all around the park and it has Matt and I all sorts of excited for FALL PORTRAITS! Yay! Matt and I decided a while ago that we want to be Wedding Photographers in Lake Tahoe and Reno, AND Highschool Senior Photographers in Reno. Of course we LOVE being family/maternity/newborn photographers as well, but weddings and highschool seniors are where our photography passion leads us to the most. We’ve really enjoyed our Highschool Senior and teen portrait sessions that we started doing in an effort to bulk up our highschool senior photography portfolio. Teens in the 15-18 age range are just so interesting and full of ambition…it’s refreshing to be surrounded by a young lust for life. It makes me want to work harder and be better…to feel more like I’m at the beginning of something great, rather than stuck in the middle. I guess that’s enough of a rant about why we love being Highschool Senior Photographers in Reno, so here is a behind the scenes look at an angle that Matt took during a recent highschool senior/teen portrait photo session.

We finally (I know, we’re REALLY late on this one) found West Street Market in Downtown Reno, NV. We knew our upcoming teen portrait session needed to have an urban feel, so we were pleasantly surprised at how awesomely photogenic West Street Market is. Then we met Jennifer and knew we picked the PERFECT spot for her Downtown Reno teen portraits. Jennifer is an aspiring model in Reno who took on West Street Market like a true pro! All of the beautiful young women we’ve photographed recently have been sweet, lovely of course AND amazingly intelligent. These girls have so much going for them (like so much that it makes me jealous a little, lol)…and Jennifer is another wonderful example of a young woman who is going to RULE THE WORLD. We had an awesome time doing these Reno teen portraits for her. She is fierce :)

I have to say, being a Lake Tahoe wedding photographer and a teen & highschool senior photographer in Reno is my dream job. These teen portraits are so, so much fun. A few things we learned from Brooke on this teen portrait shoot in Reno, NV, is that she is a ballet dancer and also plays piano. We’ve always wanted to photograph dancers, so we’re so glad to have met Brooke so we could finally do so! I loved the sheet music and outfits/accessories that Brooke brought to the shoot as well. These were all done at Galena Creek Park in Reno, NV – a lovely little backdrop for photography. This teen portrait photography session with Tatiana was an absolute blast! It was a hot and busy day in Downtown Reno, with a Reno Aces game in full swing and even a fashion show going down at the Siena. We started in the Freighthouse District and worked our way to a graffiti covered wall just past downtown Reno. We found out during the shoot that art is one of Tatiana’s interests, so the locations ended up meshing very well with her style, especially because she brought outfits ranging from casual to dressy. Thank you for being an excellent model for us, Tatiana, and an extremely intelligent and lovely person all around as well!
