Amanda & Sam’s Edgewood Wedding – Lake Tahoe Wedding Photography

May 17, 2012 by Jentry

These images are my fave images from 2nd shooting for Sacramento & Lake Tahoe Wedding Photographer, Doug Miranda last fall. I’ve eaten a pulled pork sandwich at Edgewood Tahoe before, but this was my first time shooting there, and I can definitely say it’s a beautiful venue in a beautiful spot. I love the combo of nicely groomed landscapes and the beach together. Lake Tahoe is just amazing, isn’t it? And this was a beautiful couple who wasn’t afraid to be themselves on their wedding day. I had a great time shooting with Doug! I’m so thankful for the chance to 2nd shoot for such amazing photographers. You’ll see me posting more of my 2nd shooting images, soon!

Why do I love photos so much?

May 9, 2012 by Jentry

I ask myself why I love photography so much quite often. Like why do I love taking photos more than doing graphic design or creating illustrations? I’ve struggled with it because I’ve always enjoyed graphic design and such – just never to the level of photography. Well, I looked at Ben the other day “just going out in the backyard to swing, guys,” as he said, walking out the door – and I was just blown away with how he suddenly he’s a BIG boy. He eats all his dinner (unless beans are involved – the kid has a serious issue with beans lol), he says such grown up things to us and he is very quickly on his way to being a teenager. He’ll be one before we know it.

And that is why I love photography. It’s like you trap a memory in a physical form. I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t look back at photos of Ben when he was all sweet and innocent and little. It’d be a shame to not be able to see those photos of him now. Sure, we have our memories….but for how long? A photo is a way to bring those memories out of hiding in your brain. I am so scientific.

It’s memories like Ben’s 7th birthday that are absolutely priceless. Price. Less. I’m about 2 months late on posting these, but here they are :) Please excuse the  giant elephant butt…those things are huge. I love you, Benji! You are my special little dude and I know you will grow up (fast) into an amazing man, just like your Daddy!

Nick & Denali – Rancho San Rafael Engagement Session – Reno, NV

April 30, 2012 by Jentry

Nick and Denali are one of those couples you see and just know they absolutely belong together. Look at these two! And their pup (who cooperated so nicely for me!!). I can’t describe how lovely this engagement session was on a warm April day. Nick is serving our country in the National Guard and was home for just a short while before heading back to his post, so I feel like we were all truly blessed with a beyond perfect day for their engagement session.  It was beautiful…a slight breeze, lots of beautiful spots at Rancho San Rafael that weren’t crowded with people strolling through – and Nick and Denali’s love and devotion shining brightly for every snap of my shutter. I admire this couple so much – I can only imagine how hard it is to maintain a relationship with a world of distance in between each other.

I look at the photos below and remember just how important engagement sessions are. When you look at these, you see the love burning fiercely in these two people. I love being able to capture that period of time before a wedding in a couple’s lives – where things can range from fun to stressful as all get out. It’s an exciting time, either way – and I’m just thankful to those who place their trust in me to document this time.

I absolutely can not wait to shoot Nick and Denali’s wedding in September. I know it will be an incredible day.

Enjoy the photos below, and leave some comments to let this fabulous couple know how much you love them!
